Smartphones have made it easy for anyone to be a reporter these days. Anyone can shoot video or record a conversation and share it online to a global audience. Social media is now creating the news. This pervasiveness of social media news has changed tthe way even main stream, perhaps old fashion, media outlets report on stories. Breaking news is on Twitter before it’ll be on TV.
